"Leading the settlement of nation-wide leisure culture,
'Korea National Amateur e-Sports Games '"
|
The 'National Amateur e-Sports Games ' is a combined amateur competition in a format of the National Games,
purposing to create the basis of domestic e-Sports which is becoming the nation-wide leisure culture based on the 18
million e-Sports population. It selected various domestic gaming events, and limited participation to amateurs only, to
seek for balanced development of pro-gamers and amateurs, as well as the development of domestic e-Sports events,
and in the end, contributes to the reinforcement of the position of Korean e-Sports, not to mention the settlement of
participating leisure cultures.

The National Amateur e-Sports Games are held by joining hands with the regional e-Sports competitions held by the
regional state bodies all throughout the nation and the representatives selected in each region through the regional
competitions compete in the elimination rounds of the hosting city with the honor of their region at stake.
In the first competition held in October 2007,270 gamers from 8 regions around the nation participated, maintaining
a great success, showing the birth of a nation-wide e-Sports competition with the highest prestige, and in September
2008, was promoted to the Presidential Cup.
The KeG Competition is leading the settlement of e-Sports as a leisure culture through the participation of citizens all
throughout the nation, and is planning to enlarge the scale by expanding the regions of participation and diversifying
gaming events.

▶ Qualifications and replacing of players in regional preliminary rounds
① Players in regional preliminary rounds apply for participation through the Presidential Cup 2009 KeG home page
(www.e-games.or.kr).
② The Qualifications for participation are residents of that area, students of the regional school, and among those,
pure amateurs or semi-pro-gamers, and pro-gamers or ones who have been expelled from pro-gaming cannot
participate.
③ The required documents to prove residency are as the following
1.ID card(Resident Registration Card, Drivers License, Teenager registration card)
④ The required documents to prove academic registration are as the following.
1.Strudent ID card with a photo
2.Elemenarty school students who do not have a student ID card may hand in a Academic registration form
with the residents registration number on it.
⑤ For replacement of players in the preliminary rounds, only the ones qualified for participation can replace, and
must be handed in to the regional hosts 3 days prior to the rounds.
⑥ Players who participated in the regional preliminary rounds may not participate in other regional preliminary
rounds.
▶ Qualifications and replacing of players in elimination rounds
① For team matches with more than 2 members and Pump it Up which is an exhibition event, the champions and
the runners-up compete in the elimination rounds as regional representatives.
② For individual matches, the semi-finalists compete in the elimination rounds as regional representatives.
③ Replacements of elimination rounds should be qualified for the preliminary rounds, and until the set date,
the justification, documents, and the replacement application forms must be handed in to the association
and approved, and the documents accepted by the association are as the following.

④ The players in the elimination rounds must hand in the players' list until the set date, and late arrivals
cannot be approved as replacements.

⑤ In the case of team matches, the allows number of replacements for a reasonable rationale are as the following,
and if there is a need to replace more than the allowed number, the next team with the highest score gets the
qualifications to participate in the finals.
1. 2 member team matches : 1
2. 3 member team matches : 1
3. 4 member team matches : 2
4. 5 member team matches : 2
⑥ In other cases when teams/players cannot participate, the next team/player with the highest score gets the
qualifications.
⑦ When the ranking are not set for the absence of the regional representatives, the following standards are to be
followed.
1. For Sudden Attack and Special Force, the teams with the highest win-losses from quarterfinals to semifinals,
and if the set win-losses are equal, the team with the higher round win-losses advances.
2. For Slugger, the player with the highest accumulated scores from the octafinals to the semifinals gets the
priority, and if the scores are equal, the player with more accumulated fair hits advances.
3. For Fifa Online 2, the player with the highest goal gain-losses has the priority, and if it is equal, the
player with more scores advances.

Sudden Attack, Special Force : Set Win-loss->Round Win-loss
Slugger: Scores->Fair hits ,Fifa Online 2: Goal Gain-Losses->Scores
⑧ In the case of team matches, players who participated in the regional preliminary round cannot be a
replacement for the elimination rounds.
⑨ The players/Teams who were the regional champions get the title of semi-pro-gamers.
